- What's an AI conversation?
- A chat the assistant answered at least once in the 30-day period. Chats only your team answers are free.
- Going over
- Monthly plans continue at $0.04 per AI conversation beyond your plan's allowance, up to a spending limit you set. Annual plans stop at their allowance, and new chats go to your team.

What counts as an AI conversation?
- A chat the assistant took on at least once during a 30-day billing period, including replies it drafted for your approval. Conversations handled only by your team don't count, and every plan includes unlimited team seats.
What happens if I go over my allowance?
- On monthly paid plans, once your trial ends, Counter keeps going at $0.04 per AI conversation beyond your plan's allowance, up to a monthly spending limit you set in Billing ($50 by default, up to $5,000). On annual plans, the assistant stops at the allowance and new chats are handed to your team, so you're never surprised by a bill.
Is there a free trial?
- Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, once per store. You add a card (or approve the charge in Shopify) to start it, and you can cancel before it ends without being charged. There's no free plan.
How am I billed?
- Shopify stores are billed through Shopify, on the store's Shopify invoice. Medusa stores are billed by card through Stripe. Each store has its own plan, and annual billing charges ten months for twelve.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
- Any time, from Billing in your workspace. On Shopify, plan changes go through Shopify's approval screen, and cancelling credits the unused time to your Shopify bill. On Medusa, changes apply right away, and a cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
